How do I set different ip confs for wireless interfaces (wlan0) and for
other interfaces like eth0. Then I need an easy way to change those
confs. For wireless there is 'cardctl scheme *', but I didn't get it
work =).

Go back through the archives a while, this was beaten to death then. I switch IP configuration between home and work by getting my address from a DHCP server (one at home, one at work).

To avoid re-starting applications, I run nscd and restart that when my network configuration changes.
