This is ridiculous.  Insist in an external DSL modem with Ethernet 
output.  These devices are agnostic; they do not give a &^%$ what OS
you are running.  The service provider does not need to know, or care,
what bits are on your computer.  The advantage of the external modem
with Ethernet output is that the E/net can go to a PC, a Mac, a
broadband router, etc.  You get the most functionality.
