Once you have a tunnel setup between your laptop at work and
a computer at home (e.g. Free/SWAN ipsec) you can then access
any and all services on your home computer.

An example to handle surfing would be: if you ran squid on the
home computer and set the work laptop to use the home squid as
a proxy.
