Hi,

after u change the config file for grub(grub.conf) or lilo (lilo.conf) ,to make the settings effect u should use grub/lilo to install the boot config on ur MBR of ur HDD

use #grub-install /dev/hda for installing using grub and
     #lilo -v for installing using lilo .

Hope that will help.

Anoop.

Subject: Boot loader

Guys,

How do I know which bootloader I am using (lilo/grub)?

I can use kickstart, but do not know what to do with ks.cfg once i save the
configuration.

The problem is I am trying to use "hiddenmenu" option in GRUB. But no matter
how I change the /boot/grub/grub.conf or /boot/grub/menu/1st or
/etc/lilo/lilo.conf, it does not reflect in booting. This include changing
the "label" in these files to "XXX" but the menu in booting still showing me
"DOS" & "LINUX"

Also, is their a way to totally disable menu driven booting. Thus when i
boot, I can press TAB and type what i want to boot in instead of it showing
me a menu of options??

I know lot of questions but I am confused. Thanks a lot in advance for any
help!!
