Re: DSL

You should definitely upgrade.
I had my ADSL ugrade last week-end using RH8 ( then I downloaded RH9 .iso
files and upgraded the OS ).

The ADSL setup in RH8 took around 10 minutes; there is a wizard that does
most of the settings; what I had to add was ISP's settings (
DNS,account,domain) and that's all.
In my RH "Network Settings" I have 2 entries : one for /dev/eth0 ( active
by default ) and one for ADSL connection ( inactive by default - still ).
What I do is to activate the latter and the connection is established.

Regards,
Ionut

after years of resisting upgrading from dial-up, i am considering upgrading
to
the cheaper version of DSL. question: is it easy to configure redhat 9 for
DSL?
what does one need to do? anything i should keep in mind wrt the DSL modem?

finally, this would the ultimate payback but can i subscribe to dsl with
msn8
and run linux on my machine? i use a dell latitude c840 if it matters.

thanks for any help!
