Jeffrey,

Boot from CD #1 using 'linux rescue'. Mount your system r/w (you have
the option of mounting it r/o), and create the following:

drwxr-xr-x    2 root    root        4096 Mmm dd hh:mm initrd

Your system should boot to Linux again.
