Apache 2.0.47 RH9

hello,

after reading the thread about apache 2.0.47, backports etc ... I have some questions .

1) I need mod_auth_ldap: http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mod_auth_ldap.html which is "Available in version 2.0.41 and later", my RH 9 ships with httpd-2.0.40-21.1 .
This is a "feature" so I suspect that it is not part of the backports !?
Do I need to compile (rpmbuild) from rawhide 2.0.45 to get that feature ?,

2) actually I did it, however installing that newer version causes lots of depencies problems :
[root@xxxxxxx /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386]
$ rpm -Uvh httpd-2.0.45-14.i386.rpm httpd-manual-2.0.45-14.i386.rpm httpd-devel-2.0.45-14.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_ssl-2.0.40-21.1
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) php-4.2.2-17.2
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_perl-1.99_07-5
httpd-mmn = 20020628 is needed by (installed) mod_python-3.0.1-3
libapr.so.0 is needed by (installed) mod_perl-1.99_07-5
libaprutil.so.0 is needed by (installed) mod_perl-1.99_07-5
I think I can get things work out by firstly removing mod_perl, mod_python, php then recompile rawhide versions of these packages, but it's getting a bit complicated ...
what is recomended in that kind of situation ?.

3)When rebuilding source RPMS , it would be fine if in the spec files, patches were more documented, so that we could isolate patchs unneeded in a specific version. (indicate which ones are part of a backport, and from wich version ?)
Example, Here I took rawhide 2.0.45 source rpm, it applies lots of patches, but if I get the 2.0.47.tar.gz file from apache web site and replace in the rawhide 2.045 spec file , which patches should I remove ?
example of error while leaving all 2.0.45 paches an rebuilding with a 2.0.47.tar.gz
Patch #2 (httpd-2.0.36-apxs.patch):
+ patch -p1 -b --suffix .apxs -s
3 out of 9 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file support/apxs.in.rej
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.67702 (%prep)
is this patch still needed ? what is it's purpose ?

Thanks.
