Prior versions of RHL have included a little script, /usr/sbin/setclock, that calls /sbin/hwclock to set the system hardware clock to the current linux system time.
I'm tempted to add the old script to RHL 9.

What are you trying to achieve? If you've NTP set up, and want to ensure that the current corrected time is pushed back into the H.W clock, then I believe the recommendation (ntp docs?) is to put a hwclock command into a daily cron job.
