for being able to see them you must maybe recompile mplayer, and you must have the right win32 codecs on you system. On my box they look like this:
yves@xxxxxxxxx:/home/yves# l /usr/lib/win32/
total 6,7M
True - but, I never compiled any of this -
with these there was never anything mplayer could not play.
All I did was a straightforward, mechanical, and simple-minded install of some rpms, and voila - multimedia nirvana.
