Thanks, Ed. Since I'm a tcsh user, the command is 'limit', and I did add it to my /etc/csh.cshrc file. RH 9 seems to have some new boot up sequence since my /etc/csh.login seems to be being ignored entirely (where my old coredumpsize limit was). I know the resource file source sequence for /bin/tcsh varies by how it was compiled--maybe that's different between RH 8 and RH 9. Thanks again. Tom
