Hmm, I would understand if you relied on the information that can be found on the Yum home page. However, I do not understand what makes you think apt4rpm "always does a rpm --force --no-deps". It doesn't use --force. A fragment in the source code is still there, but is obsolete. There is code that can enable --nodeps for Install/Erase, but during normal operation it doesn't use it either. Nevertheless, it's there and apt4rpm might use it whenever it likes to. I don't like that. My other reasons to use Yum together with http://www.fedora.us are number of reported problems/issues with apt4rpm and also that during my tests it added option --oldpackage by default and that I find it much more convenient to create and maintain local Yum repositories than apt repositories. - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+xRqR0iMVcrivHFQRArhRAJwNAvjz2tfJJN55Z+riBPoI4Lk12gCfY/Ze BZb3hs2g8E7F4+bNvjl0pBI= =gHNO -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
