Hi Ingo, I've discovered that the tinyx servers aren't using xfs to serve fonts by default. You can force tinyx to use the font server by editing the rule supplied /usr/X11R6/bin/startx file and changing one line: defaultserverargs="-screen 800x600x24 -2button" to defaultserverargs="-screen 800x600x24 -2button -fp unix/:7100" Note that the resolution can also be changed if your hardware supports it. I'm using: defaultserverargs="-screen 1024x768x24 -2button -fp unix/:7100" After making that change and restarting X, I was able to get abiword to load using the tinyx Xvesa server with the icewm window manager. I'm trying to rebuild the tinyx package so that it uses xfs (if available) by default, but for now, the work-around above should do the trick. - -- - -Michael pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt Red Hat Linux 7.{2,3}|8.0 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/ - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+wcawn/07WoAb/SsRAhUYAJ4iQtrXCsub0/1Qe9b1ITO/nNdCzACgs95M 8fRxn23rmDhFAzh0l1H931s= =o9Gq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
