thanks Jeff, I was looking for an example on how to
configure sendmail to not allow external relays. Now I
have another question, what is a "smarthost"??

Oh don't worry - sendmail as shipped by redhat
will not allow any mail relaying whatsoever,
except for localhost, end of story.

That's a wise initial configuration for newbies.

Those who want to relay mail, will know how to
adjust the sendmail config...
