sorry, Tim, but since I am a newbie:
with the testkernen downloaded under
http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/testkernels/

my modem still doesn't work....

you mentioned a dev kernel: where  can I get it, and how do I install it
(rpm -i ... I suppose). Is there any potential harm, this kernel could
do for my a31p thinkpad?
