I suppose I could.  I'd kind of like to leave this to the last resort
though, as I'd like to know why this is happening.

I have run it on /etc a couple of times, but I don't know that it
completed properly, plus there could have been some permission
problems.  I'll schedule it for / after I leave work tonight and see
what the result is on monday morning...
