The problem was the permissions in the iptables.

Thanks.

I am missing something.

I have a nfs client that exports files to dozens of computers
successfully.

I have two new clients which are not mounting the files from the
server, although the server authorizes the mount
request from the client --

	from /var/log/messages

rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from client for directory.

Both the client and the server have each other's ip address in
/etc/hosts. The clients can ping computers on
other subnets. The server can successfully ping the clients. The
clients can use mozilla successfully.

The error on the client is

rpc: timed out

There are no errors reported in /var/log/messages on the clients.

Thanks for any help.
One possibility is that portmap has died on the clients.
