hi 
I edited this file to include what u suggested but then it did nt work. i ran the dhcp-script again but the file was overwritten to the previous one.
I have observed that in my ifcfg-eth0 file i m missing DHCP_HOSTNAME
so i now include
DHCP_HOSTNAME=wonder
as wonder is the name of my machine
lets see what happens
m goin back to linux
:) m really tired of swithcing bween windows and linux sorry on me

You could try changing the resolv.conf file to below..

search giove.crema.unimi.it crema.unimi.it
nameserver 159.149.70.1
nameserver 159.149.70.3
nameserver 159.149.70.5

Looks like your dns is sort of working, just not dns'ing the host to IP.
