Why such old PCMCIA drivers?

Hello.

After updating my kernel to the recently-released v2.4.21, I noticed
numerous warnings in my system log (see below). This is not Red Hat's
responsibility since I elected to update my kernel. I wonder, though,
why RH is distributing such an old version of pcmcia-cs software?

Shrike shipped with v3.1.31 of the package, which was released prior to
the release of RHL v7.3. (The current version is 3.2.4, released last
March). The kernel-pcmcia-cs RPM package in RawHide is the same one that
shipped with Shrike.

Despite the log warnings, I see no functional problems with my CardBus
network card. I'm just curious as to why RH is not staying
(approximately) current on the pcmcia-cs software. Anyone know?

Thanks.
