If you read that doc he refered to, it mentions you need the bonding module..

# cd /lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/
# find -name "bonding.o"
./kernel/drivers/net/bonding.o

Or even just

# modprobe bonding

.. ergo, it's a part of the standard redhat kernel .. no compiling required. Please read that doc again, setting it up is really quite simple.

Ps, the doc mentions you need 'ifenslave', which is already included in the iputils package, so no compiling required for that either

Ah, so this means that I will have to recompile the kernel to achieve this??

You need to enable the bonding driver (as a module) within the kernel...I believe there is documentation with the kernel source itself on how to accomplish (/usr/src/linux-2.4/Documentation/networking/bonding.txt)

Hi,

Does anyone know the best way to load balance two identical NIC cards?? (The Server PC has an Intel Pro 10/100/1000MB 64Bit Dual Channel NIC Card)

What I basically will be doing, will be to setup a Gaming Server for UT2K3, Q3A etc, on a LAN. The PC will be running multiple copies of these game servers (Deathmatch, CTF, etc) and possibly also an FTP server. (So the gamers can download the updated/new maps and mods etc.)

I did see some NIC utilities somewhere which is supposed to help achieve this, but I can't seem to find it. I hope that someone on this forum can help.
