updatedb is run from a dsily cron job, and you probably don't want to 
prevent it from running. It updates the database used by the locate 
command, which allows you to do things like:

$ locate updatedb
/usr/bin/updatedb
/usr/share/man/man1/updatedb.1.gz
/etc/updatedb.conf
