Yes, it works. Note that it would be better for you if you
downloaded the RPM packages from a nearby and reliable FTP/HTTP or
even RSYNC server. Rsync does downloads based on checksumming which
could safe you some bandwidth. You can either put the downloaded
files into /var/spool/mail or point up2date to a directory which
contains packages, see "up2date --help".
