I have got similar results: hdparm -tT /dev/hde /dev/hde: Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.13 seconds =984.62 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.15 seconds = 55.65 MB/sec This is with (probably) the same 120GB Seagate SATA drive. I doubt if the first value is accurate though. It surpasses the maximum SATA speed by a long shot..;-) On Sat, 2003-07-05 at 11:17, Dean Mumby wrote: > [root@xxx root]# hdparm -tT /dev/hda > > /dev/hda: > Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.17 seconds =752.94 MB/sec > Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.15 seconds = 55.65 MB/sec > [root@xxx root]# > > Using Intel Rock Lake and seagate 120GB SATA drive > > > Dean > > On Fri, 2003-07-04 at 16:16, Gustave wrote: > > Is anyone using the new Serial ATA drives with RH 9? > > > > Looking to make sure some people have had some success before dumping the money > > on one. > > > > Is SATA built into the stock RH kernels? > > > > Any performance feedback from anyone using one? > > > > Thanks > > > > Gustave > > > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------- > > This mail sent with 3Web WebMail http://www.3web.com > > >
