The same thing happens to me... Dell Inspiron 8200 with the NVidia
graphics chip.  ALT-F1, wait a second, ALT-F7 fixes it for me, but it's
still a pain.  Happens (almost?) every time the screensaver kicks on or
the lid gets closed.  I haven't reported it yet, b/c I though it was
just me... I guess it's not!  Contact me offline if you'd like more
details about my system.
