Don't quite see the error here but get the source of cdrtools and build it. It works on k3b for me.
The filenames were trunced. It wasn't a big problem. The CDR seemed to play well, without reporting errors.
Also, about the maximum recorded size being 711 mb, the blanks are 700 mb / 80 minutes. Either the blanks are capable of 11 megabytes more of information, or the ratio is out by 1.015714286, for identifying the true CDR capabilities.
