Not exactly topic, because I tried it quite a while ago for RH7.2.  It was
on a slow 200MHz computer with 3C905-TX.  I just did as you described, and
it worked nicely ... except for speed.  I had to let it run over night.  
Meanwhile, the RH servers have more bandwidth, but with the demand of
these weeks ... try to find a mirror.
