after following the thread on plugins i decided to install Real One, I had to stop arts (Im a KDE man) to get it to work no issues with kernel threading. when i stopped arts i got a whole bunch or souund events from GAIM play for about 3 minutes. i have alsa installed, i have 9 installed on my laptop which is a Dell Inspiron 4150 using a i810 chipset, i have a mostly similiar setup on my desktop running 8.0 which works i have a SB Live in it though. Is there any issues with the i810 not accepting multiple streams. I have never run 8.0 on the laptop since i just got it so i dont know how it would work there. Dennis
