It looks like the 8.0 documentation is wrong, and was wrong for 8.0 - you used to need a RedHat directory for unpacked source but I have been doing hard disk updates at least as far back as 8.0 without the RedHat directory. I wonder if it is still wrong in the 9 documentation! Michael Young
