As far as I know RedHat has never supported Reiserfs on the root partition. But they have left open a back door which ornery geeks like myself try to use anyway ... ;)
never heard of it being used with Red Hat kernels before. Are you sure this is supposed to work?

No, I was not certain that it would work. When it did not, I asked here in the hope that someone knew why. Jeremy Katz (in another reply) has given me a gentle nudge in the direction of adding support, and I probably will just for fun.
