just post it to show how non rooted rpms builds can be done in your home dir make a rpm dir, cd into this and now as root copy the dir structure of /usr/src/redhat to your own dir, adjust permissions to the user that will make rpms, and place the atteched macro file below in the homedir next is just as regulary user rpmbuild -tb tarfile --target=athlon if you like me have a athlon type cpu :-) now the compiled rpms should be in /home/user/rpm ready to be installed as root sorry if i just post a faq :-) -- "Only wimps use tape backup: _real_ men just upload their important stuff -o) on ftp and let the rest of the world /\\ mirror it ;)" - Linus Torvalds _\_V
