Your options then are: 1. stay with the downgraded glibc 2. upgrade to the latest redhat kernel and see if that works (2.4.20-20.8) 3. set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL to ...? 4. upgrade to fedora! I tried to find the messages that listed various problems and how to fix them with the latest glibc update, but I couldn't find it... Just a thought, did you upgrade to the correct arch version of glibc?
