# hdparm /dev/hda
find the using_dma setting. you may want to turn it off if its on. 1 = on, 0 = off
type:
# hdparm -d0 /dev/hda
or add to /etc/rc.d/rc.local

Is this something to worry about or is this because my hda is dual boot?
