I tried compiling the source for 1.4-4, and hit the following error:
checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.7... Package gtk+-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-2.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'gtk+-2.0' found
configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.7) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
I also tried this yesterday and determined that the library name in the
error is incorrect. You need to install gtk2-devel (plus its
dependencies). After installing gtk2-devel and restarting rpmbuild you
will discover that libIDL-devel is also needed. This should allow the build
to succeed.
Note that both mozilla 1.4-3 and 1.4-4 from rawhide leave behind a process named mozilla-bin when the gui is closed. This process survives even a logout/login! After closing mozilla you must kill the mozilla-bin process before you can re-open mozilla - otherwise the gui will not appear at all and no errors are printed.
