Lucent modem (winmodem)

Thanks for your advice.

Before testing your suggestion, I accidentally delete /dev/modem which
is symbolic linked to /dev/ttyLT0.  Rebooting PC could not recover it. 
mkdir /dev/modem only creates a directory.

Kindly advise how to get it back.  Thanks in advance.
