I have 4 files in that directory:
libmysqlclient_r.so.10      libmysqlclient.so.10
libmysqlclient_r.so.10.0.0  libmysqlclient.so.10.0.0

and they are all provided by the mysql-3.23.56-1.80.i386.rpm I mentioned
in my previous message. So if I had to make a guess, I would say that
you do not have the mysql RPM installed ('rpm -qa | grep mysql' will
tell you if it is installed).
