out of memory messages and server lockups in Redhat 8

Hello. I recently rebuilt a server which has running Redhat 7.3 and
reinstalled it as a Redhat 8 server. Today, the server lockup up twice
and the log showed out of memory messages for mysql and httpd. I
stopped the mysql service because I don't need it, but this is a
email/web server and I can't do without httpd.

I checked for the presence of a root kit on the server and there isn't
one. The only thing I have notice is a lot of traffic from people to
improperly access the mention and spam.

Has anyone had a similar problem with a Redhat 8 server? Does anyone
have any suggestions to figuring out what is happening?

Thanks,

Leo Boucher
