More than likely you don't have it in your path. IIRC it installs into
/usr/java/$VERSION/ where $VERSION is the jre version. Just set your
PATH to include /usr/java/$VERSION/bin, such as:

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_02/bin
