I've seen the thread started about Samba and I too am having some difficulty. When I go to the share from a windows box, I get "\\Server is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Network Path not found." In my log file, I get the following error: [2003/04/03 07:51:30, 0] lib/access.c:check_access(333) Denied connection from (192.168.1.50] IP Address listed in the log is the address from my Windows PC. In the smb.conf file, I have opened up one "share" file in order to put some html files, etc. for transfer. This is what that config looks like: [public] comment = LinuxServer path = /share browseable = yes public = yes writable = yes printable = no I also put this line in the smb.conf file: hosts allow = 192.168.1.0 So...my question here is: I've noticed some "browser" settings in the smb.conf file. Is there something I need to do with those? Is my share setup correct for a public share for anyone on my network (only 6 nodes)? ...and... Is there anything special to do for WORKGROUPS other than putting the workgroup name in the smb.conf file? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
