I have to agree.  I recently had a problem with an in house app 
written using some third party DLL's that crashes if the data files 
are stored on a Samba server but run OK -- more or less -- if the 
data files are stored on a W2K server.  The solution?  Put the damed 
things on a W2K server.  It's not like we don't have a couple (that 
have to be rebooted every moring but that's another story :-)
