Here we go again...

Did anybody installed Sybase 12.5 on RH8.0?
What version of glibc do you have?
My srvbuild can't create master.dat...
Everything I've found so far points to glibc.
Thanks in advance,
Naum.

In one of the Sybase rpms a check of
$RPM_INSTALL_PREFIX is done. This is
used to grep /etc/ld.so.conf . Due to a bug, RedHat
bugzilla 75057, in
rpm 4.1 which is shipped in RedHat 8.0 this variable is
not set. This
causes the grep to return nothing which in the end is
put into
/etc/ld.so.conf.

So it is a RedHat bug in the rpm code. It is fixed in
rpm 4.2 .
