You may want to make sure that you are not plugged into the WAN side
of the router.  Most routers (linksys included) have an option for shutting
the http ports down on the WAN side.  If you can ping it, then you can
communicate.  I would try to connect an os you are familiar with
and try it that way... my guess is that you will have the same problem.
If you do, contact Linksys... they should be able to fix their router.
