I'm on an iBook G3 running OSX 10.1.5, connecting wirelessly through a Linksys BEFW11S4 ver.2 router, and running pine on Lserv.com in California from a DSL connection in Virginia. I also have a desktop connected by an ethernet cable to the same router. But when I try to configure the RH 8.0 hard drive on my desktop, using the Internet Configuration Wizard, I get to where ping 192.168.1.1 works with 0% loss -- but trying to connect a browser to http://192.168.1.1 gets a message saying "The connection was refused when attempting to contact 192.168.1.1" I have my own SSID and password set on the router -- which may be part of the problem -- but the browser does not get asked for either. -- Beartooth the Stubborn <karhunhammas (at) lserv.com> double retiree, linux duffer, curmudgeon online pine 4.43 on ISP's machine; RH 8.0, YDL 2.3, OSX 10.1.5 Privoxy 3.0.0; Phoenix 0.5, Opera 6.11, Galeon 1.2.5 Keep in mind that I have little idea what I'm talking about. -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
