No, when you install RH 8.0 it will install the athlon kernel automatically.
So you will not have to do a thing.

Hi linux gurus, just to check something out because I heard the words:
"kernel for AMD". I'm going to install RH8 on an Athlon XP 2400+. Do I need
something like a kernel for AMD? Personally I don't think so since Intel and
AMD have the same instruction set. Am I wrong somewhere?
