Firewall Issue

I have been working on getting my postfix server going, but have realized
the firewall on Linux is causing me problems. (RH Linux 8.)
I installed with Medium security and selected www, ssh and smtp to be
allowed. However, when I'm in the GNOME and go to redhat>>system
settings>>security level, I am set to HIGH with none of the options I
requested at installation selected. So...I try to change these settings.
Every time I go back to the security level, they're back to HIGH with none
of the options I requested selected. Is there something else I need to do
to "turn on" these three ports? (Such as restart something, disable
something, etc.)

Thanks!
Corey
