check out "/etc/modules.conf". It declares which is eth0 and which is eth1.
You CAN fudge this. Then check the settings in /etc/system-config/network.

Don't let "fiber" fool you into thinking there is something special here.
Once the fiber card is appearing in ifconfig the rest of the of the
setup is bog standard dual NIC setup described in many HOWTOs on the
http://www.tldp.org/ site.
