You'll need to run 2.4.20-2.21 anyway. I've tried both ways and the xconfig options are differents. If I copy the config-2.4.18 as 2.4.20 .config and do a kernel compile it does'nt work. If I compile the 2.4.20 .config it works - I have now this new kernel option in the lilo.conf - but there are some problems: soundserver and USB. Both work with the 2.4.18 - sound module is i810_audio - but they does'nt with 2.4.20. I think it's not an add on.
