Hi all, I have just upgraded 2 systems to 8.0 after using RH 7.3. "man ls" looks fine on the screen. If I "man ls>test", then "cat test" it still looks good on the screen. If I then "hexdump -c test" I can see codes 39 and 45 are each replaced by several foreign symbols in the file "test", and the printer prints them all. The local HP2100 printers installed with the printconf gui in both cases worked with no problem in 7.3. Red Hat test pages for Postscript and ascii look fine. ls -la | lpr works, and the hyphens in the directory are printed OK. But man outputs no longer print correctly. Same printer is used in both cases, but it still works with 7.3. Printcap has: [root@lodt bin]# lpc printcap Printer: hp2100@localhost hp2100 :af=/var/spool/lpd/hp2100/hp2100.acct :if=/usr/share/printconf/util/mf_wrapper :lp=/dev/lp0 :lpd_bounce=true :ml#0 :mx#0 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/hp2100 :sh .......exactly the same as I use in 7.3. What's the best way to proceed? Thanks in advance. -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
