Multiple Wallpapers in Gnome?

Hi,

Is there no way in the GNOME to have a different
background for each desktop?

I'm trying to switch over from KDE to GNOME as my
primary D.E. In the former I normally work with eight
desktops, each with it's own color scheme or
background. Gnome preferences doesn't have an option
for other than a common background.

A couple of google searches -
including one for site:listman.redhat.com -
found almost nothing on this, for which i was
suprised.(the one i found talked about gnome with
enlightenment, which is not offered in 8.0)

TIA

JI
