Imagine a nasty apache exploit like we have seen in the past that compromises
a lot of servers. All the other linux vendors supply patches immediately.
Is Red Hat going to say "Sorry, Red Hat 7.2 -- its product support date has
ended." No they probably aren't. So why not publish a more reasonable
support policy?
Exactly. This has be me questioning my recent decision to move to Red Hat from another distro. If they want everyone to move to more expensive products (like Advanced Server), I think they will be disappointed. For a large business, AS makes sense, but not for small businesses or individuals. I'm surprised there are not more comments about this on the list.
