GPL License

This might be a little off topic, but I have a question about the GPL
licensing.

If I were to develop a product for my own use, would I be required to
distribute it because someone found out I had it and they wanted it?

Could I sell services created by a GPL product without distributing the
product?

Here is a fictitious example of what I am talking about:

I write a program using GPL products. The program is able to pick the
ten stocks that will go up the most the next trading day. I want to
sell that report to subscribers at the end of every trading day.

I do NOT want to sell the program that does the calculations. I just
want to sell the service. Would I be required to sell or give the
program away because I created it with gpl? I understand that if I were
to distribute or sell the program, it would be open to anyone who wanted
it or a copy of the source code for it.

The question is: Do I HAVE to distribute a product I create under GPL
if I don't want to distribute it at all? And May I sell the results of
the program without being required to sell or distribute the program?

Thank you

Buck
