How to turn off Gnome control of desktop background ?

Hello all,

In Gnome 1.4, there was a place in the Gnome control panel where you could uncheck "Use Gnome to Control Background". Is there somewhere you can do that too in Gnome2 ?

I am asking because I want to use chbg 1.5. I have installed it but when I turn it on nothing happens. But when I logoff, I have seen that behind the usual desktop background appears the image I wanted to use with chbg.

I have seen in the list advice to choose No Image in the Change Background settings of Gnome 2. But I am still stuck to a colored background and no chbg image in sight despite having turned on chbg.

So I was wondering if there was another place where you could turn off Gnome control of the desktop background ?

Thanks in advance,
